Welcome to our school
Compass Point Primary is a Good School in the heart of Bedminster, home to a thriving, diverse and vibrant community; known for its street art, festivals and music. Our children are ready to learn, respect their classmates and those about them and are safe and cared for. Children make good choices, firm friendships and are generally happy about the school. The culture around the school feels warm and caring. Together, our children progress through life, inspired by our School motto, 'Aspire, Believe, Achieve'.
Parents and carers are proud of the school and, from the moment I started here, I have felt a strong sense of partnership. We are well connected and our parent group, the Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) support us and work alongside us to enhance our provision.
In return, we offer a progressive curriculum, that allows children to build on their previous learning, as they move through school. It is purposeful, relevant and focused, providing the knowledge and understanding for our children to progress and succeed in the world today. We also offer an alternative and personalised provision, for children in our KS1 & KS2 Resource Base. A provision that delivers a specialist education, primarily for those with an ASD diagnosis. We also have a successful and popular Nursery provision, which operates during term time, when the school is open.
Our school campus is extensive and we have our own field (not easy in the middle of Bristol), Forest School area, and numerous exciting outdoor spaces. We also have designated learning areas for Design Technology (cooking), Art and Music and a Library.
Our staff are dedicated, caring and professional and I see that genuine care in their interactions with children every day. Our Governors form our Academy Committee, and with strategic oversight and critical friendship, they support and supplement our school leadership, offering a broader, community perspective.
We are very keen to welcome prospective parents to our school and our community. We are happy to share with you, who we are and what we do. Please contact the School Office and we will arrange a visit.
